The guide to the world of extra virgin olive oil — aptly nicknamed by many the Bible of olive oil — is born each year from meticulous work: mapping the olive-growing traditions of five continents, more than 57 countries and 35 olive-growing regions, to deliver to the market a ranking of the world's best 500 companies.
Three editions in dual language (Italian-English, Italian-Chinese and Italian-Spanish), detailed cartography, constantly updated statistical data. An editorial project that is also a concrete communication tool for the producers selected.
Open to all. Selective by choice.
The heart of the project is the contest: every year, quality olive oil producers send their EVO samples to be evaluated by a panel of around 50 expert tasters, selected on a rotating basis and coordinated by Marco Oreggia.
The philosophy is clear: break down the boundaries of quality, recognising that excellence is achievable everywhere. But the ranking stops at 500. Maximum openness, therefore — and maximum rigour. Being listed in Flos Olei is not an occasional medal: it is a reference that companies can use over time to support their reputation on international markets.
The internal rankings — Hall of Fame and The Best — complete the picture, offering buyers, importers and media a reliable guide through the global extra virgin olive oil landscape.
